Improving Operational Efficiency for Hospitals and Clinics Using 340B Contract Pharmacies - 6/30/09

In this economy, how can you successfully meet your hospital's growing pharmacy needs and still maximize 340B pharmacy savings? With the financial challenges placed on our hospitals, finding ways to reduce outpatient pharmacy spending while maintaining quality of care can be difficult and demanding.

Register now for our June 30 free webinar (2-3 p.m. EDT) to explore how to use contract pharmacies to improve operational efficiency. This session comes as the federal government is getting closer to publishing long-awaited guidelines that would expand the use of 340B contract pharmacies. The webinar is free for all SNHPA members, thanks to our corporate partners and sponsors PDX-RX.com and eRx Network.

The webinar will begin with a quick status report on the current rules for 340B facility use of contract pharmacies, followed by an update on expected changes that would let 340B hospitals and clinics contract with multiple pharmacies and facilitate greater use of mail order and central fill technology.

Learn how to use central fill technology to improve patient care while better utilizing the pharmacist's time, improving job satisfaction and reducing costs. Hear about a contract pharmacy's relationship with a supermarket chain that has improved patient satisfaction and reduced costs for a 340B provider. And get tips for how to manage your inventory while maximizing 340B revenue.

Speakers include Stuart Gordon, SNHPA's director of legal and regulatory affairs; Tam Nguyen, pharmacy director at Harris County District Hospital; Ron Sims, Ellipticare Outpatient Pharmacy Services; Steve Burson, pharmacy systems coordinator with The Kroger Co; and Bob Bowers, chief executive of the Third Street Clinic.
